Stat. tit. 62, § 62-2008","heading":"Plans for use of funds - \"Economic development\" defined -","body":"Fund allocation.\n\nA. The governing board of an entity described by subsection A\n\nor B of Section 2007 of this title shall develop a plan for the use\n\nof available funds for the economic development of areas included\n\nwithin its respective jurisdiction. For purposes of this act,\n\n\"economic development\" shall include, but shall not be limited to,\n\nthe following purposes:\n\n1. Rural water quality projects, including acquisition,\n\ntreatment, distribution and recovery of water for consumption by\n\nhumans or animals or both;\n\n2. Rural solid waste disposal, treatment or similar projects;\n\n3. Rural sanitary sewer construction or improvement projects;\n\n4. Rural road or street construction or improvement projects;\n\n5. Provision of rural fire protection services and public\n\nsafety services;\n\n6. Expenditures designed to increase the employment level\n\nwithin the jurisdiction of the entity;\n\n7. Provision of health care services, including emergency\n\nmedical care, in rural areas;\n\n8. Construction or improvement of telecommunication facilities\n\nor systems;\n\n9. Improvement of municipal energy distribution systems; and\n\n10. Community buildings, courthouses, town halls, senior\n\nnutrition centers, meeting rooms or similar public facilities.\n\nB. Effective July 1, 2010, at least eighty percent (80%) of any\n\nfunds distributed to an entity as provided by this section shall be\n\nexpended for assets described in paragraphs 1 through 6 of\n\nsubsection A of this section. The remaining amount of any funds\n\ndistributed to an entity as provided by this section may be expended\n\non assets or purposes described in paragraphs 7 through 10 of\n\nsubsection A of this section.\n\nC. Not later than July 31, each entity described by Section\n\n2007 of this title shall transmit, in such electronic form as may be\n\nprescribed by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for purposes of\n\naccess to such information on the website maintained by the\n\nDepartment, a summary of each project upon which funds received by\n\nthe entity from the Rural Economic Action Plan Fund were expended\n\nduring the fiscal year ending on the June 30 date immediately\n\npreceding the July 31 reporting date.","path":["OK Code","Title 62"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os62.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7fc213cb6c4bd31f9da977a1d1d7a41ac83e7d3dbcfed2fe34393a6f379bf48f","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-2007","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-2009"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
