Stat. tit. 62, § 62-2202","heading":"Provision of services on private land or homes","body":"In areas of this state that have been declared by the Federal\n\nEmergency Management Agency (FEMA) eligible for Public Assistance,\n\nstate and local governmental entities, and any other entity\n\nexpending public funds, are hereby authorized to use their\n\nemployees, property, and other resources, pursuant to this section,\n\nto provide services on private land or homes to the extent necessary\n\nto aid in disaster relief. Disaster relief shall be designed to\n\nassist in removing health and safety hazards and returning homes to\n\na safe and habitable level. The disaster relief shall be limited to\n\nthe cleanup of debris and repair of damage caused by a natural\n\ndisaster. The disaster relief shall not be utilized for work\n\nrelating to general home improvements. No state or local\n\ngovernmental employee or employee of an entity expending public\n\nfunds, pursuant to this section, shall be assigned to duties which\n\ninclude the provision of disaster relief services unless the\n\nemployee’s job description includes duties of the same type as are\n\nrequired to provide the disaster relief services or the employee\n\nvoluntarily agrees to such assignment. Such employees shall not be\n\ndisciplined or terminated for failure to participate in disaster\n\nrelief. However, an employee whose job description includes duties\n\nof the same type as are required to provide disaster relief services\n\nare not exempt from disciplinary action or termination for failure\n\nto perform disaster relief duties at the request of his or her\n\nemployer.
