Stat. tit. 62, § 62-261","heading":"Payments to State Treasurer","body":"When any cashier's check or other exchange has been issued by\n\nany state or national bank in the State of Oklahoma, made payable to\n\nthe State of Oklahoma or any agency thereof, and such cashier's\n\ncheck or other exchange has not been presented for payment and paid\n\nby the bank of issue within three (3) years from the date of\n\nissuance, claim of the state thereto is hereby asserted and the bank\n\nof issuance is hereby made the agent of the state, and pursuant to\n\nsuch agency, the state or national bank issuing the same or the\n\nsuccessor thereof shall pay the amount of any such cashier's check\n\nor other exchange to the State Treasurer under the provisions of the\n\nUniform Unclaimed Property Act using the same reports as required to\n\nreport other forms of property.\n\nIn addition to examination by the Office of the State Treasurer\n\npursuant to the provisions of Section 678 of Title 60 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes, all such banks shall permit the State Auditor and\n\nInspector or a duly authorized deputy access to their records to\n\nascertain whether any such cashier’s check or exchange has been\n\nissued and remains outstanding and unpaid.\n\nTo the extent discernable, the State Treasurer shall notify the\n\nstate agency named in the remittance forms returned by the bank of\n\nthe amount and of any other identifying data contained as to each\n\nitem named; and upon presentation by such agency to the State\n\nTreasurer of claim duly authenticated and proof of right thereto the\n\nState Treasurer shall draw a voucher or order for the amount thereof\n\nfound proper, to be paid to such agency.","path":["OK Code","Title 62"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os62.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"bfe2fe1023d23b2e02b663d7d6e8069a68549e0d4f15dae21885c8a0e972fa74","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-256","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-262"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
