Stat. tit. 62, § 62-286","heading":"Composition of indebtedness under bankruptcy law","body":"Any county, municipality, local improvement district organized\n\nor created for the purpose of grading, paving or otherwise improving\n\npublic streets, alleys, or roads; or other similar district; also\n\nany paving district of any municipality of this state; any drainage\n\nor reclamation district; or any agency or instrumentality formed or\n\nexisting pursuant to the laws of this state, which is an agency or\n\ninstrumentality of a kind named or described in Section 81 of an Act\n\nof Congress, entitled \"An Act to Establish a Uniform System of\n\nBankruptcy Throughout the United States\", as approved July 1, 1898,\n\nand as now or hereafter amended and supplemented, (Title 11, United\n\nStates Code Section 401); which has power to incur indebtedness,\n\neither through action of its governing body or through the action of\n\nthe governing body of any county, municipality, district, agency or\n\ninstrumentality in which such county, municipality, district, agency\n\nor instrumentality is included; is hereby authorized to proceed\n\nunder all applicable laws enacted by the Congress of the United\n\nStates, under its federal bankruptcy powers, to effect a plan for\n\nthe composition of its indebtedness; and the officials and governing\n\nbody of such county, municipality, district, agency or\n\ninstrumentality are authorized to adopt all proceedings and to do\n\nany and all acts necessary fully to avail such municipality, county,\n\ndistrict, agency or instrumentality of the provisions of any of such\n\nActs of the Congress of the United States.","path":["OK Code","Title 62"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os62.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d0822ede0d402952e44d7f512da68073837e0755d822437f11cf9d2a94363f72","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-285","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-291"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
