Stat. tit. 62, § 62-292","heading":"Procedure - Notice","body":"Whenever, after the issuance or approval of said bonds it shall\n\nbe determined that the purpose for which said bonds have been issued\n\nby such municipality, political corporation or subdivision of this\n\nstate, has ceased to exist, the commissioners, board, council, or\n\nother officers of such municipality, political corporation or\n\nsubdivision of this state, shall at its next session, either regular\n\nor special, by resolution declare that the purpose for which said\n\nbonds were issued has so ceased to exist, and pursuant thereto shall\n\nauthorize and direct its clerk or secretary to issue and publish\n\nnotice of such fact and of its intention to cancel and destroy said\n\nbonds, in some newspaper of general circulation within such\n\nmunicipality, political corporation or subdivision of this state, or\n\nwithin the county in which same is located, for at least fourteen\n\n(14) days, two insertions being necessary, and such clerk or\n\nsecretary shall immediately upon the passage of such resolution post\n\ncopies of such notice in five public places within such\n\nmunicipality, political corporation or subdivision of this state.\n\nSuch notice shall specifically designate the bonds to be canceled,\n\nstating the purpose for which issued, the amount and date thereof,\n\nand shall further state in substance that on a day certain not less\n\nthan two (2) weeks from the first publication and posting of said\n\nnotice, unless formal objection and protest in writing is made by at\n\nleast one-third (1/3) of the voters, qualified to vote, at the\n\nelection by which said bonds were authorized to be issued, the said\n\ncommissioners, board, council, or other officers of said\n\nmunicipality, political corporation or subdivision of this state,\n\nwill proceed to cancel and destroy said bonds.
