Subject to review and approval as provided for in Section\n\n34.27 of this title, a state agency, board, commission, or authority\n\nmay obtain reimbursement of a merchant fee incurred in connection\n\nwith any electronic or online transaction.\n\nB. Subject to review and approval as provided for in Section\n\n34.27 of this title, unless otherwise permitted by law, a state\n\nagency, board, commission or authority may charge a convenience fee\n\nfor a manual transaction. Each state entity shall keep a record of\n\nhow the convenience fee has been determined and shall file the\n\nrecord with the Information Services Division of the Office of\n\nManagement and Enterprise Services. A state agency, board,\n\ncommission, or authority may periodically adjust a convenience fee\n\nas needed upon review and approval as provided for in Section 34.27\n\nof this title.\n\nAny state agency, board, commission or authority may apply to\n\nthe State Governmental Technology Applications Review Board for\n\nauthorization to charge a convenience fee for electronic or online\n\ntransactions. If authorization is granted, the state entity shall\n\nnot assess a convenience fee for equivalent manual transactions.\n\nThe Board shall annually review the authorization for a convenience\n\nfee for electronic or online transactions and shall take action to\n\nrenew or revoke the authorization as provided for in this\n\nsubsection.\n\nC. For purposes of this section:\n\n1. \"Merchant fee\" shall mean and be limited to the cost of a\n\ncharge imposed by a third-party credit card or debit card issuer\n\nthat is necessary to process an electronic or online transaction\n\nwith a state agency, board, commission or authority;\n\n2. \"Convenience fee\" shall mean a fee charged to partially\n\ncompensate for costs incurred as a result of providing for a manual\n\ntransaction or an electronic or online transaction if authorization\n\nis approved as provided for in subsection B of this section; and\n\n3. \"Manual transaction\" shall mean a transaction that is not\n\nconducted online or electronically if the transaction is made\n\navailable online or electronically.","path":["OK Code","Title 62"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os62.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"9e657c716b9b3955225b2d5d61e1b6be7aa423255a82834e5a3e206e7d2ecead","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-34.24.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-34.26"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
