Stat. tit. 62, § 62-35.6.2","heading":"Land Mobile Radio Public Safety Interoperability","body":"Cooperative\n\nA. In order to comply with Executive Orders and federal and\n\nstate statutory and regulatory requirements related to interoperable\n\npublic safety communications and to support the critical mission and\n\npurposes of the agencies within the Oklahoma Safety and Security\n\nCabinet, the Transportation Cabinet and the Finance, Administration\n\nand Information Technology Cabinet, there is hereby established the\n\nLand Mobile Radio Public Safety Interoperability Cooperative. The\n\nLand Mobile Radio Public Safety Interoperability Cooperative shall\n\nbe governed by a committee initially consisting of the Secretary of\n\nFinance, Administration and Information Technology or designee, the\n\nSecretary of Transportation or designee and the Secretary of Safety\n\nand Security or designee. The Cooperative is established to focus\n\non unifying, stabilizing and enhancing the infrastructure and\n\ncapabilities for land mobile radio public safety system\n\ncommunications for the State of Oklahoma and shall include\n\nrepresentatives of other public radio system boards or committees\n\nalong with future voting or non-voting public entity members as\n\ndeemed appropriate, nominated and agreed to by vote of the committee\n\nmembers defined in this paragraph.\n\nB. 1. In establishing and operating the Land Mobile Radio\n\nPublic Safety Interoperability Cooperative, the committee shall\n\ncollaborate with other public agencies, public entities and other\n\ninterested parties having public safety radio communications\n\nrequirements and resources.\n\n2. The Cooperative shall establish an appropriate governance\n\nmodel for determining priorities, leveraging state-owned or other\n\nshared services and infrastructure, identifying existing and new\n\nresources and directing new investments to facilitate reliable,\n\nstatewide and fully operational public safety radio communications\n\nto serve the purposes described.\n\n3. In support of the requirements of the Oklahoma Homeland\n\nSecurity Act, the Oklahoma Information Services Act and the\n\nInformation Technology Consolidation and Coordination Act, the\n\nCooperative shall have the following duties:\n\na. enable cost savings to the State of Oklahoma through\n\nunification and enhancement of current land mobile\n\nradio public safety systems,\n\nb. sustain existing interoperability of land mobile\n\npublic safety radio systems,\n\nc. recommend standards and protocols for land mobile\n\nradio public safety systems,\n\nd. recommend standards to become P25 compliant and other\n\ncommon radio interoperability standards, and\n\ne. establish service metrics to ensure reliable land\n\nmobile public safety services statewide in support of\n\nstate, local and first responders.\n\nC. Actions, decisions and operation of the Land Mobile Radio\n\nPublic Safety Interoperability Cooperative shall be performed in\n\ncompliance with, in support of and secondary to all statutory\n\nduties, requirements, responsibilities and authority provided to the\n\nOffice of Management and Enterprise Services and the Oklahoma Office\n\nof Homeland Security; however, the resources and mechanisms\n\navailable to Cooperative members by ownership or through agreement\n\nmay be collectively utilized to carry out the provisions of this\n\nstatute.","path":["OK Code","Title 62"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os62.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"9177b3c245a2752557ecebd5c22f5d88d4917962761926260220e87f74f7c573","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-35.6.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-35.7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
