Except as provided in Section 17-102 of Title 11 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes and subsection B of this section, all public funds\n\nof any county or of any subdivision thereof shall be disbursed only\n\nin the payment of legal warrants, bonds and interest coupons.\n\nCounties may implement a direct deposit system to have warrants\n\ntransferred electronically to a financial institution. The State\n\nAuditor and Inspector shall promulgate rules as necessary for the\n\nimplementation and administration of a direct deposit system.\n\nB. Any board of county commissioners of a county of this state\n\nmay issue a negotiable instrument which will serve as both a warrant\n\non the treasury and a check ordering payment of the warranted amount\n\nof money from the account of the treasury. This instrument shall be\n\nprepared and issued in accordance with procedures and requirements\n\nprovided by law for a warrant and a check and shall be signed by the\n\nchair of the board of county commissioners, the county clerk and the\n\ncounty treasurer. Printing on the instrument shall indicate that\n\nthe instrument is a \"warrant\" of the county and a \"check\" drawn on\n\nthe account of the county.
