Stat. tit. 62, § 62-482","heading":"Maturity of warrants - Right of action - Limitations","body":"From and after the passage of this act, without regard to the\n\ntime when funds may be collected and are available to pay the same,\n\nany and all warrants issued in payment of obligations of counties,\n\ntownships, cities, towns and other municipal subdivisions or\n\ncorporations of this state, shall as to time of payment, become due\n\none (1) year after the close of the fiscal year for which the same\n\nwas issued, and action thereon may be commenced in any court of\n\ncompetent jurisdiction to enforce the liability evidenced thereby.\n\nUnless action be commenced by the filing of suit thereon and service\n\nof summons by the aforesaid due date, the same shall be forever\n\nthereafter barred, and it shall not be necessary that such lapse of\n\ntime be asserted as a defense in any such action in order that the\n\ndefendant be relieved of liability thereon.","path":["OK Code","Title 62"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os62.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"bfbf9d1d2276145b510ebda2c2292464900bb812ee0c32ca612aecadcfa355ae","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-481","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-485"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
