Stat. tit. 62, § 62-488","heading":"Check or cash voucher - Limitation of time for honoring -","body":"Disposition of funds held therefor.\n\nNo check issued or voucher registered by the treasurer of any\n\ncounty in this state shall be honored by the bank on which it is\n\ndrawn or by his registration made payable if not presented within a\n\nreasonable time under the circumstances, or in any event unless\n\npresented within one (1) year of the date of issue.\n\nWhen one (1) year shall have elapsed after the date of issue of\n\nany county treasurer's check drawn against any public funds in the\n\ncounty treasurer's custody or of any voucher drawn by any public\n\nofficer against the public officer's official depository account\n\nwith the county treasurer, other than checks and vouchers which may\n\nbe issued to another public officer for the benefit of the state or\n\na subdivision thereof, it shall be the duty of the county treasurer\n\nto make entry of cancellation opposite the record of the check or\n\nregistration of the voucher, and shall forthwith credit the amount\n\nthereof to the fund on which it was drawn and report the action on\n\nforms and in the manner prescribed by the State Auditor and\n\nInspector.\n\nProvided, that nothing in this act shall supersede or repeal any\n\nof Section 693 of Title 58 of the Oklahoma Statutes.","path":["OK Code","Title 62"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os62.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"9a816226a56a1a50d43b1f06aa1660fd69504d74c86d39238b4a48f1a6683a39","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-485","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-49"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
