Stat. tit. 62, § 62-496","heading":"Special tax for payment of interest and principal","body":"Counties, cities and towns which shall or have issued bonds\n\nunder authority of Article 10, Section 35 of the Constitution shall\n\nlevy a special tax payable annually in a total amount not to exceed\n\nfive (5) mills on the dollar in addition to the legal rate permitted\n\non the real and personal taxable property therein to provide for the\n\npayment of the principal and interest as they mature of all bonds\n\nheretofore or hereafter issued under authority of Section 35,\n\nArticle 10 of the Constitution; provided, however, the county or\n\nmunicipality may, initially and from time to time thereafter,\n\nsuspend the collection of such annual levy when not required for the\n\npayment of the principal of and interest on its bonds; and provided\n\nfurther that in event total net taxable valuation of the issuing\n\ncounty or municipality has declined from that in existence at time\n\nbonds were issued, and if necessary to assure payment of principal\n\nand interest on the bonds, a special tax up to five (5) mills shall\n\nbe levied on the real and personal taxable property therein based on\n\nthe issuer's total net taxable valuation in existence at time bonds\n\nwere issued.","path":["OK Code","Title 62"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os62.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"0dabcbcfb4b06dcb80438d63baa248a43ddb354e7865d036b78386bcbd8bba5a","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-495","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-498.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
