Stat. tit. 62, § 62-552","heading":"When no funds - Payment thereafter in order of","body":"presentation - Penalty for violation.\n\nWhenever a warrant or order shall be presented to any treasurer\n\nnamed in the preceding section, and the same is not paid for the\n\nreason that there is not money sufficient in the fund on which same\n\nis drawn, the treasurer shall endorse on the back of such warrant or\n\norder, \"Not paid for want of funds,\" number, date and sign the same;\n\nand he shall set down in a book to be kept for that purpose, the\n\nnumber, amount, the date and upon what fund drawn, to whom payable,\n\nand the date when presented for payment, and such warrants or orders\n\nshall be paid in the order of their presentation and registration as\n\nshown by such book, and such book shall be known in each such office\n\nas the \"Warrant Register\"; and any such treasurer who shall fail,\n\nneglect or refuse to pay any warrant or order drawn on the treasurer\n\nin the order of registration as shown by the warrant register, or\n\nshall pay any warrant or order so drawn out of its regular order,\n\nand give preference to the same over other warrants or orders, shall\n\nbe deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be\n\nsubject to a fine of not less than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) nor\n\nmore than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00).","path":["OK Code","Title 62"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os62.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"410889b38670fea0c76e9aa6d6fbc73b01e1d7dd56e7e3fd2f0f49dba95cd502","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-551","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-553"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
