Stat. tit. 62, § 62-553","heading":"Notice of ability to pay registered warrants -","body":"Publication.\n\nIt shall be the duty of all such treasurers, whenever any money\n\ncomes into their hands by virtue of their respective office, to set\n\napart a sufficient fund to pay any or all warrants or orders they\n\nmay have registered in compliance with the provisions of Section 551\n\net seq. of this title, and to keep the same until called for; and\n\nthe State Treasurer shall make regular calls, at least every sixty\n\n(60) days, by publishing notice in some newspaper of general\n\ncirculation published at the state capital, giving notice that he\n\nhas money in his hands with which to pay warrants, and give the\n\nnumbers and the several funds, and requesting that the same be\n\npresented at the Treasury for payment and cancellation, and every\n\ncounty treasurer, city or town treasurer and the treasurer of every\n\nboard of education, shall make calls for warrants or orders by\n\nposting notices in the manner as provided by Section 475 of this\n\ntitle or by publication of a like notice as that required of the\n\nState Treasurer, in some paper of general circulation published in\n\nthe county, and the interest on any and all warrants or orders\n\ncalled as above specified, shall cease on and after thirty (30) days\n\nfrom the date of the publication of such notice: Provided, that\n\neach county treasurer shall transmit to the State Treasurer all\n\nstate funds or warrants in his hands on the first day of each month:\n\nProvided, further, that any treasurer who violates any of the\n\nprovisions of this article, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and\n\npunished as provided in Section 552 of this title: And provided,\n\nfurther, that each school district treasurer shall publish such\n\nnotice by posting printed or written notices of the same in two or\n\nmore public places in his district.","path":["OK Code","Title 62"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os62.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"3080d6771ba7160c719fd6cbb86fd939608fdbd36a67b0f07fcf7251ce270b30","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-552","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-62-62-554"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
