Stat. tit. 62, § 62-891.2","heading":"Purpose of act","body":"The Legislature finds investments for the purpose of economic\n\ndevelopment of the State of Oklahoma, including but not limited to\n\nauthorized economic development projects for the purpose of\n\nattracting private investment and job creation, public\n\ninfrastructure to aid development such as roads, bridges, water\n\ntreatment, water storage and water delivery facilities, surface\n\nwater management assets, sanitary sewer facilities and related\n\nassets, and other assets owned or maintained by the counties, cities\n\nand towns of the state are essential to a safe and productive\n\nenvironment for the residents of the state and visitors to the\n\nstate. The Legislature further finds that existing fiscal resources\n\nat the local government level are not always sufficient to maintain\n\nthe highest possible standards of safety or quality and that it is\n\nan essential function of state government to ensure that critical\n\ninfrastructure is constructed, maintained and repaired in conformity\n\nwith such highest possible standards. The Legislature finds that\n\nencouraging local governments to cooperate to develop regional\n\ninfrastructure and economic development projects will most\n\neconomically and efficiently serve the needs of the state’s\n\ncitizens.
