Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-1001.3","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Oklahoma Bedding Regulation Act:\n\n1. \"Bedding\" means any mattress, upholstered spring, sleeping\n\nbag, pad, comforter, cushion, pillow and any other item used\n\nprincipally for sleeping. The term \"bedding\" also includes dual\n\npurpose furniture such as studio couches, futons and sofa beds;\n\n2. \"Mattress\" includes padding or cushioning material which is\n\nused in conjunction with water bed liners, bladders or cylinders,\n\nbut does not include water bed liners, bladders or cylinders;\n\n3. \"Itinerant vendor\" means a person who sells bedding from a\n\nmovable conveyance;\n\n4. \"Manufacture\" means the making of bedding out of new or\n\nrecycled materials;\n\n5. \"New material\" means any material or article that has not\n\nbeen used for any other purpose;\n\n6. \"Previously used material\" means any material which\n\npreviously has been used for any purpose other than for the\n\nmanufacture of bedding;\n\n7. \"Recycled material\" means materials which have previously\n\nbeen used for purposes other than as a component of bedding or\n\nbedding materials, and which can be used, after processing, for\n\nbedding materials. Such processing shall result in a sanitary\n\nmaterial which can be used safely as a bedding material without the\n\ngermicidal treatment used for secondhand materials. Properly\n\nrecycled materials shall be considered new materials;\n\n8. \"Renovate\" means the reworking or remaking of used bedding\n\nor the making of bedding from previously used materials;\n\n9. \"Sanitize\" means germicidal treatment of secondhand bedding\n\nor previously used materials to be used in renovating for the\n\ndestruction of pathogenic microorganisms and arthropods and the\n\nremoval of dirt and filth;\n\n10. \"Secondhand bedding\" means any bedding of which prior use\n\nhas been made as bedding;\n\n11. \"Sell\" or \"sold\" means to sell, offer to sell, give away in\n\nconnection with a sale, a sale's promotion or sale by consignment;\n\nor possess with intent to sell, deliver or consign in sale; and\n\n12. \"Commissioner\" means the Commissioner of Health.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"7b14d00dbb96903604343c8c508b06dc0c0633d240456e23f116e60a48a2bee9","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-1001.2","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-1001.4"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
