Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-114.1","heading":"Comprehensive Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention","body":"Program.\n\nA. There is hereby established the Comprehensive Childhood Lead\n\nPoisoning Prevention Program to be administered by the State\n\nDepartment of Health.\n\nB. The State Board of Health, giving consideration to the\n\nrecommendations of the Infant and Children's Health Advisory Council\n\ncreated in Section 44 of this act, shall promulgate rules for:\n\n1. Lead toxicity screening of children ages six (6) months to\n\nseventy-two (72) months;\n\n2. The performance of verbal risk assessments on children ages\n\nsix (6) months to seventy-two (72) months;\n\n3. The performance of blood lead tests when screening eligible\n\nchildren for lead poisoning, provided that screening and testing for\n\nMedicaid-eligible children shall be conducted in accordance with\n\nexisting federal law;\n\n4. Setting standards for any developmental assessments for a\n\nchild identified as being lead poisoned;\n\n5. Identifying as statewide screening requirements the minimum\n\nlaboratory tests or analysis for childhood lead poisoning to be\n\nperformed by medical providers for particular age or population\n\ngroups;\n\n6. The determination of risk for each child tested;\n\n7. Detailing the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up services\n\nneeded pursuant to the provisions of this act;\n\n8. Providing for health education and counseling related to\n\nchildhood lead poisoning to parents and children; and\n\n9.
