Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-1410","heading":"Adulteration of cosmetics","body":"A cosmetic shall be deemed to be adulterated:\n\n(a) if it bears or contains any poisonous or deleterious\n\nsubstance which may render it injurious to users under the\n\nconditions of use prescribed in the labeling or advertisement\n\nthereof, or under such conditions of use as are customary or usual.\n\nProvided, that this provision shall not apply to coal tar hair dye,\n\nthe label of which bears the following legend conspicuously\n\ndisplayed thereon: \"Caution-This product contains ingredients which\n\nmay cause skin irritation on certain individuals and a preliminary\n\ntest according to accompanying directions should first be made. This\n\nproduct must not be used for dyeing the eyelashes or eyebrows; to do\n\nso may cause blindness\", and the labeling of which bears adequate\n\ndirections for such preliminary testing. For the purposes of this\n\nparagraph and paragraph (e) the term \"hair dye\" shall not include\n\neyelash dyes or eyebrow dyes.\n\n(b) if it consists in whole or in part of any filthy, putrid, or\n\ndecomposed substance.\n\n(c) if it has been produced, prepared, packed, or held under\n\ninsanitary conditions whereby it may have become contaminated with\n\nfilth, or whereby it may have been rendered injurious to health.\n\n(d) if its container is composed, in whole or in part, of any\n\npoisonous or deleterious substance which may render the contents\n\ninjurious to health.\n\n(e) if it is not a hair dye and it bears or contains a coal tar\n\ncolor other than one from a batch which has been certified under\n\nauthority of the Federal Act.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"493fb7cf454ddfda1bbca350d2b667b1977c93f7472c8dde62c7b90e23b86c3d","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-1409","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-1411"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
