Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-1451","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Oklahoma Medical Micropigmentation Regulation\n\nAct:\n\n1. “Licensing board” means the Oklahoma State Board of Medical\n\nLicensure and Supervision, the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners\n\nand/or the Board of Dentistry;\n\n2. “Medical micropigmentation” means a medical procedure in\n\nwhich any color or pigment is applied with a needle or electronic\n\nmachine:\n\na. to produce a permanent mark visible through the skin,\n\nb. above the jawline and anterior to the ear and frontal\n\nhairline including but not limited to application of\n\neyeliner, eye shadow, lips, eyebrows, cheeks, and\n\nscars, and/or\n\nc. for repigmentation of areas involving reconstructive\n\nsurgery or trauma.\n\nMedical micropigmentation shall not include placing on the body any\n\npictures, images, numbers, signs, letters of the alphabet, or\n\ndesigns. Medical micropigmentation shall not be construed to be\n\nincluded in the definition of tattooing as provided in Section 841\n\nof Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes; and\n\n3. “Physician” means a person licensed to practice:\n\na. allopathic medicine and surgery by the Oklahoma State\n\nBoard of Medical Licensure and Supervision pursuant to\n\nthe Oklahoma Allopathic Medical and Surgical Licensure\n\nand Supervision Act,\n\nb. osteopathic medicine by the State Board of Osteopathic\n\nExaminers pursuant to the Oklahoma Osteopathic\n\nMedicine Act, or\n\nc. dentistry by the Board of Dentistry pursuant to the\n\nState Dental Act.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"c840ace54d80bbb8d0f941ef3f8182f016b328fbd7960b83feb1cdc231e244fa","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-1450","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-1452"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
