Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-1710","heading":"Retirement system","body":"If, pursuant to the laws of Oklahoma or of any charter provision\n\nor ordinance of a city which participates in a city-county, county,\n\ndistrict, or cooperative health department, as authorized by the\n\nOklahoma Public Health Code, a retirement system is established for\n\nthe employees of a participating city, the employees of the city-\n\ncounty, county, district, or cooperative health department may be\n\nincluded in that retirement system on the same basis applicable to\n\nemployees of the participating city, provided the applicable Board\n\nof Health so recommends and the State Commissioner of Health, the\n\nboard of county commissioners, and the governing body of the city\n\nwhich created and operates such health department approve. Nothing\n\notherwise provided by law shall operate to prohibit the\n\nappropriation of county funds for the payment of the pro rata share\n\nof the contribution to be made to the city or county retirement fund\n\non behalf of the employees of the applicable health department. In\n\nthe event funds become available for public health purposes pursuant\n\nto the provisions of Section 9a, Article X of the Oklahoma\n\nConstitution and 63 O.S.Supp.1963, Sections 1-223 through 1-226, the\n\ncontribution on behalf of the employees of the applicable health\n\ndepartment may be paid from such funds; provided further, that an\n\nemployee of the city-county, county, district, or cooperative health\n\ndepartment shall not participate in more than one of the city,\n\ncounty, or state retirement systems.\n\n1965, c. 102, § 1, emerg. eff.
