Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-1923.1","heading":"Residents and Family State Council - Toll free","body":"hotline.\n\nThe State Department of Health shall:\n\n1. Establish a Residents and Family State Council which shall\n\nbe composed of fifteen (15) members who are, or who have been within\n\nthe last twelve (12) months, residents, family members, resident\n\nvolunteer representatives or guardians of residents of nursing\n\nfacilities licensed pursuant to the Nursing Home Care Act, but shall\n\nnot include persons representing residents in facilities for the\n\ndevelopmentally disabled. The Council shall annually elect a chair\n\nand vice-chair, and shall meet at least quarterly. Meetings shall\n\nbe conducted in the various areas of the state with at least one\n\nmeeting in each of the four quadrants of the state to allow for\n\nparticipation by family members and residents where possible. The\n\nmembers of the Council shall be reimbursed pursuant to the State\n\nTravel Reimbursement Act. The Council may present recommendations\n\nto the Long-Term Care Facility Advisory Board created in Section 1-\n\n1923 of this title and shall have the power and duty to advise the\n\nState Department of Health concerning the development and\n\nimprovement of services to and care and treatment of residents of\n\nfacilities subject to the provisions of the Nursing Home Care Act\n\nand make recommendations to the Department as necessary and\n\nappropriate. The members shall serve at the pleasure of the State\n\nCommissioner of Health; and\n\n2.
