Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-1956.1","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in Section 1-1953.1 et seq. of this title:\n\n1. \"Assisted living center\" shall have the same meaning as\n\nprovided by Section 1-890.2 of this title;\n\n2. \"Authorized electronic monitoring\" means the placement of\n\nelectronic monitoring devices in the common areas or room of a\n\nresident of a nursing facility, assisted living center or continuum\n\nof care facility and the tapes or recordings from such devices\n\npursuant to the provisions of Section 1-1953.1 et seq. of this\n\ntitle;\n\n3. \"Authorized electronic monitoring devices\" means:\n\na. video surveillance cameras installed in the common\n\nareas or resident's room under the provisions of\n\nSection 1-1953.1 et seq. of this title, or\n\nb. audio devices installed in the room of a resident\n\nunder the provisions of Section 1-1953.1 et seq. of\n\nthis title that are designed to acquire communications\n\nor other sounds occurring in the room;\n\n4. \"Continuum of care facility\" shall have the same meaning as\n\nprovided by Section 1-890.2 of this title;\n\n5. \"Nursing facility\" means the term as defined in Section 1-\n\n1902 of Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes;\n\n6. \"Representative of a resident\" means a court-appointed\n\nguardian or, if there is no court-appointed guardian, the parent of\n\na minor, a relative or other person, designated in writing by the\n\nresident; provided, that any owner, operator, administrator or\n\nemployee of a facility subject to the provisions of the Nursing Home\n\nCare Act, the Continuum of Care and Assisted Living Act, the\n\nResidential Care Act or the Group Homes for the Developmentally\n\nDisabled or Physically Handicapped Persons Act shall not be\n\nappointed guardian or limited guardian of a resident of the nursing\n\nfacility, assisted living center or continuum of care facility\n\nunless the owner, operator, administrator or employee is the spouse\n\nof the resident or a relative of the resident within the second\n\ndegree of consanguinity and is otherwise eligible for appointment;\n\n7. \"Resident\" means a person residing in a nursing facility,\n\nassisted living center or continuum of care facility; and\n\n8. \"Unauthorized electronic monitoring\" means electronic,\n\nmechanical, or other devices that do not meet the provisions of\n\nSection 1-1953.1 et seq. of this title and that are specifically\n\nused for the nonconsensual interception of wire or electronic\n\ncommunications.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"d2a3969ba66d23f4d35a8adf189fba613e808dde84f45464306a196f766c53c2","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-1955.6","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-1956.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
