A silver alert shall be activated if a local law enforcement\n\nagency:\n\n1. Receives notice of a missing senior citizen;\n\n2. Verifies that at the time the senior citizen is reported\n\nmissing:\n\na. the person reported missing is sixty (60) years of age\n\nor older,\n\nb. the location of the senior citizen is unknown, or\n\nc. the senior citizen has dementia or other cognitive\n\nimpairment;\n\n3. Determines that the disappearance of the senior citizen\n\nposes a credible threat to the health and safety of the senior\n\ncitizen; and\n\n4. Determines that information which may assist in the safe\n\nrecovery of the missing senior citizen is available.\n\nB. The local law enforcement agency shall:\n\n1. Require the family or legal guardian of the missing senior\n\ncitizen to provide documentation of the impaired mental condition of\n\nthe senior citizen;\n\n2. Determine identifying information about the missing senior\n\ncitizen and any other information which might be useful to the\n\ngeneral public in the safe recovery of the missing senior citizen;\n\nand\n\n3.
