Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-208.1","heading":"Regional guidance centers and services","body":"(a) The State Board of Health may establish regional guidance\n\ncenters for regions designated by the Board, such regions to be\n\nselected by the Board on the basis of area, geographical location,\n\npopulation, and other factors deemed essential to indicate a need\n\nfor guidance services. The center for a region shall be in a county\n\nhaving a county department of health or participating in a\n\ncooperative, district, or city-county department of health, and\n\nshall be under the administrative direction of the medical director\n\nof the county, cooperative, district, or city-county department of\n\nhealth, and under the supervision of the State Commissioner of\n\nHealth. The county board of health or the city-county board of\n\nhealth of a county served by a regional guidance center and the\n\nState Commissioner of Health may enter into agreements for payment\n\nof operating expenses of the center, and the county board of health,\n\nor city-county board of health, may include an amount for its part\n\nof the costs in its budget or annual estimate of needs.\n\n(b) The State Board of Health shall adopt rules, regulations,\n\nand standards for the operation of regional guidance centers, and to\n\ncarry out the purposes of this section; and may formulate a schedule\n\nof fees to be charged for guidance services furnished to persons who\n\nare financially able to pay for the services. The State Board of\n\nHealth may enter into agreements with individuals and with public or\n\nprivate agencies for services to be furnished to a guidance center\n\nand may also enter into agreements to furnish guidance services to\n\npublic or private agencies. All fees collected shall be remitted to\n\nthe State Commissioner of Health, who shall deposit the same in a\n\nspecial account in the State Treasury. Such fees shall be accounted\n\nfor by region of source and shall be used by the State Commissioner\n\nof Health to provide guidance services in the regions from which the\n\nfees are derived. County funds payable under agreements entered\n\ninto under provisions of the preceding paragraph shall be accounted\n\nfor, obligated, expended and disbursed as directed by the State\n\nCommissioner of Health. Provided, however, that by agreement\n\nbetween a county or city-county board of health and the Commissioner\n\nof Health, such county funds may be remitted to the State\n\nCommissioner of health who shall deposit such funds in the same\n\nspecial account in the State Treasury created for fees collected and\n\nshall be disbursed as is provided for fees.\n\n(c) Guidance services furnished in a region under the provisions\n\nof this section shall, subject to existing laws, include evaluation,\n\ncounseling, and referral for treatment, when indicated, of\n\nindividuals with emotional or behavioral problems, and other persons\n\nin need of guidance services; consultant services to law enforcement\n\nagencies, schools, courts, other state or local agencies, and other\n\npersons or agencies concerned with persons or families with mental\n\nhealth and/or child development problems; and other guidance\n\nservices that are now or may be in the future authorized to be\n\nperformed by the State Department of Health or local departments of\n\nhealth.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"838defffaa6f3baaa047077e11cccab41181e6da7537f839741d43b1552cdf39","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-208","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-209"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
