For purposes of The Governmental Tort Claims Act, any state,\n\narea, or local long-term care ombudsman shall be deemed to be an\n\nemployee of this state and as such shall not be personally liable\n\nfor any act or omission made within the “scope of employment”, as\n\nsuch term is defined by The Governmental Tort Claims Act.\n\nB. 1. The Office of the Attorney General shall assure that\n\nadequate legal counsel is available to the Office of the State Long-\n\nTerm Care Ombudsman for the advice and consultation needed to\n\nprotect the health, safety, welfare, and rights of residents, and\n\nthat legal representation is provided to any representative of the\n\nOffice:\n\na. against whom suit or other legal action is brought in\n\nconnection with any act or omission of a\n\nrepresentative made within the scope of employment, or\n\nb. to assist the ombudsman and representatives of the\n\nOffice in the performance of their official duties.\n\n2.
