Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-227","heading":"Short title - Intent of Legislature - Office of Child","body":"Abuse Prevention created.\n\nA. Sections 1-227 through 1-227.9 of this title shall be known\n\nand may be cited as the “Child Abuse Prevention Act”.\n\nB. The Legislature hereby declares that the increasing\n\nincidence of child abuse and its attendant human and financial cost\n\nto the citizens of Oklahoma requires that the prevention of child\n\nabuse and neglect be identified as a priority within the children,\n\nyouth and family service system of this state. It is the intent of\n\nthe Legislature that:\n\n1. A comprehensive approach for the prevention of child abuse\n\nand neglect be developed for the state, and that this planned,\n\ncomprehensive approach be used as a basis for funding of programs\n\nand services for the prevention of child abuse and neglect\n\nstatewide; and\n\n2. Multidisciplinary and discipline-specific training on child\n\nabuse and neglect and domestic violence be made available to\n\nprofessionals in Oklahoma with responsibilities affecting children,\n\nyouth, and families, including but not limited to: district\n\nattorneys, judges, lawyers, public defenders, medical personnel, law\n\nenforcement officers, school personnel, child welfare workers, youth\n\nservice agencies, mental health workers, and Court Appointed Special\n\nAdvocates (CASA). Said training shall be ongoing and shall\n\naccommodate professionals who require extensive knowledge and those\n\nwho require only general knowledge.\n\nC.
