Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-227.1","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Child Abuse Prevention Act:\n\n1. \"Child abuse prevention\" means services and programs\n\ndesigned to prevent the occurrence or recurrence of child abuse and\n\nneglect as defined in Section 1-1-105 of Title 10A of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes but as limited by Section 844 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes. Except for the purpose of planning and coordination\n\npursuant to the provisions of the Child Abuse Prevention Act, the\n\nservices and programs of the Department of Human Services which are\n\nmandated by state law or which are a requirement for the receipt of\n\nfederal funds with regard to deprived, destitute or homeless\n\nchildren shall not be subject to the provisions of the Child Abuse\n\nPrevention Act;\n\n2. \"Primary prevention\" means programs and services designed to\n\npromote the general welfare of children and families;\n\n3. \"Secondary prevention\" means the identification of children\n\nwho are in circumstances where there is a high risk that abuse will\n\noccur and assistance, as necessary and appropriate, to prevent abuse\n\nor neglect from occurring;\n\n4. \"Tertiary prevention\" means those services provided after\n\nabuse or neglect has occurred which are designed to prevent the\n\nrecurrence of abuse or neglect;\n\n5. \"Department\" means the State Department of Health;\n\n6. \"Director\" means the Director of the Office of Child Abuse\n\nPrevention;\n\n7. \"Office\" means the Office of Child Abuse Prevention;\n\n8. \"Commission\" means the Oklahoma Commission on Children and\n\nYouth; and\n\n9. \"Child Abuse Prevention Fund\" means the revolving fund\n\nestablished pursuant to Section 1-227.8 of this title.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"5b8ed05a9d1d085fe8dcfcd988273155fef34f80972aeb9d9cd999888bf67902","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-227","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-227.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
