On or before January 1, 2011, the State Department of Health\n\nshall contract with community or faith-based organizations in order\n\nto expand the Postponing Sexual Involvement (PSI) for Young Teens\n\nprogram. The purpose of the program shall be to reduce the\n\nincidence of teen pregnancies in this state by encouraging teenagers\n\nto abstain from sexual activities.\n\nB. The Postponing Sexual Involvement (PSI) for Young Teens\n\nprogram shall be directed to geographic areas in the state where the\n\nteen birth rate is higher than the state average and where the\n\nchildren and their families are in greatest need because of an\n\nunfavorable combination of economic, social, environmental, and\n\nhealth factors, including, without limitation, extensive poverty,\n\nhigh crime rate, great incidence of low birth weight babies, high\n\nincidence of alcohol and drug abuse, and high rates of teen\n\npregnancy. The selection of a geographic site shall also consider\n\nthe incidence of young children within these at-risk geographic\n\nareas who are cocaine babies, children of teenage parents, low birth\n\nweight babies, and very young foster children.\n\nC. Funding for this program shall be provided from the unused\n\nfunds from the Oklahoma Employer/Employee Partnership for Insurance\n\nCoverage pursuant to Section 1010.1 of Title 56 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes, not to exceed Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00).","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"8df6f860d7f745a9d1d0cd133d733fc7dbf34393347891bd84c9a49f92f825d4","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-237","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-238"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
