Any hospital or health care facility operating within the\n\nstate may utilize emergency medical technician, intermediate\n\nemergency medical technician, advanced emergency medical technician\n\nor paramedic, community paramedic or critical care paramedic\n\npersonnel for the delivery of emergency medical patient care within\n\nthe hospital or health care facility. Except as authorized in\n\nSection 2 of this act, all licensed ambulance services shall use\n\nemergency medical technician, intermediate emergency medical\n\ntechnician, advanced emergency medical technician or paramedic\n\npersonnel for on-scene patient care and stabilization and the\n\ndelivery of prehospital and en route emergency medical care.\n\nB. Any hospital or health care facility operating within the\n\nstate may utilize community paramedic personnel for the delivery of\n\ncommunity paramedic services for patients who come to the hospital\n\nor health care facility who reside in this state.\n\nC. While participating in an emergency medical technician,\n\nintermediate emergency medical technician, advanced emergency\n\nmedical technician, community paramedic or paramedic training course\n\napproved by the State Department of Health, the student shall be\n\nallowed to perform in the hospital, clinic or prehospital setting,\n\nwhile under the direct supervision of a physician, registered nurse,\n\nor licensed emergency medical personnel who are licensed at a level\n\nequal to or above the level of training of the student, or other\n\nallied health preceptor, any of the skills determined to be\n\nappropriate for the training level of the student by the Department.\n\nD. The student shall be allowed to perform any of the skills\n\ndetermined to be appropriate by the Department for the training\n\nlevel of the student while performing community paramedic services\n\nunder the direct supervision of a physician, registered nurse or\n\nemergency medical personnel who are licensed at a level equal to or\n\nabove the level of training of the student, or other allied health\n\npreceptor.\n\nE. A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse may be used\n\nin the back of an ambulance during an interhospital transfer to\n\nsupplement the skills of licensed emergency medical personnel.
