Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-2530.2","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Oklahoma Trauma Systems Improvement and\n\nDevelopment Act:\n\n1. \"Ambulance\" means any ground, air or water vehicle operated\n\nby an ambulance service licensed pursuant to the provisions of\n\nSection 1-2513 of this title;\n\n2. \"Ambulance service\" means any private firm or governmental\n\nagency which is licensed by the State Department of Health to\n\nprovide levels of medical care based on certification standards\n\npromulgated by the State Board of Health;\n\n3. \"Board\" means the State Board of Health;\n\n4. \"Classification\" means an inclusive standardized\n\nidentification of stabilizing and definitive emergency services\n\nprovided by each hospital that treats emergency patients;\n\n5. \"Commissioner\" means the State Commissioner of Health;\n\n6. \"Council\" means the Trauma and Emergency Response Advisory\n\nCouncil created in Section 44 of this act;\n\n7. \"Department\" means the State Department of Health;\n\n8. \"Emergency medical care\" means bona fide emergency services\n\nprovided after the sudden onset of a medical or traumatic condition\n\nmanifesting itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity,\n\nincluding severe pain, that the absence of immediate medical\n\nattention could reasonably be expected to result in:\n\na. a patient's health being placed in serious jeopardy,\n\nb. serious impairment to bodily functions, or\n\nc. serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part;\n\n9. \"Hospital\" means a hospital licensed pursuant to the\n\nprovisions of Section 1-704 of this title;\n\n10. \"Regional trauma care system\" means an arrangement of\n\navailable resources that are coordinated for the effective delivery\n\nof emergency trauma services within a geographic region consistent\n\nwith an established plan;\n\n11. \"Trauma and emergency operative services facility\" means a\n\nhospital that is classified and recognized by the Department as\n\nproviding emergency trauma and operative surgical services on a\n\ntwenty-four-hour basis;\n\n12. \"Trauma patient\" means a severely or seriously injured\n\nperson who has been:\n\na. evaluated by a physician, a registered nurse, or\n\nemergency medical services personnel, and\n\nb. found to require medical care in a hospital classified\n\nas a trauma and emergency operative services facility;\n\nand\n\n13. \"Trauma services\" includes services provided to a severely\n\nor seriously injured patient.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"991ba672ddc0cb895728d208b65f46a79ee7c5187b96a2079901f3136ec679dc","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-2530.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-2530.3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
