The State Department of Health, giving\n\nconsideration to the recommendations of the Advancement of\n\nWellness Advisory Council created in Section 44 of this\n\nact, shall:\n\n1. Advise regarding coordination of osteoporosis\n\nprograms conducted by or through the Department;\n\n2. Establish a mechanism for sharing information on\n\nosteoporosis among all officials and employees involved in\n\ncarrying out osteoporosis-related programs;\n\n3. Preview and coordinate the most promising areas\n\nof education, prevention, and treatment concerning\n\nosteoporosis;\n\n4. Assist other offices in developing plans for\n\neducation and health promotion on osteoporosis;\n\n5. Establish mechanisms to use the results of\n\nresearch concerning osteoporosis in the development of\n\nrelevant policies and programs; and\n\n6. Prepare a report that describes educational\n\ninitiatives on osteoporosis sponsored by the state and\n\nmakes recommendations for new educational initiatives on\n\nosteoporosis. The Council shall transmit the report to\n\nthe State Board of Health for review and forwarding with\n\nany necessary comments or recommendations to the\n\nLegislature. The report shall also be available to the\n\npublic.\n\nB. The Department, giving consideration to the\n\nrecommendations of the Advancement of Wellness Advisory\n\nCouncil created in Section 44 of this act, shall establish\n\nand coordinate an Advisory Panel on Osteoporosis which\n\nwill provide nongovernmental input regarding the\n\nOsteoporosis Prevention and Treatment Education Program.\n\nMembership on the advisory panel shall be voluntary and\n\nshall include, but not be limited to, persons with\n\nosteoporosis, representatives of women's health\n\norganizations, public health education, osteoporosis\n\nexperts, providers of osteoporosis health care, persons\n\nknowledgeable in health promotion and education, and\n\nrepresentatives of national osteoporosis organizations or\n\ntheir state or regional affiliates.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"27e80b1e7cb1872ab5f3882d173424b862c3316fc09e6e473ab5a74b054248af","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-260.3","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-260.5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
