Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-2702","heading":"Agency responsible for telemedicine and Oklahoma","body":"Telemedicine Network - Duties.\n\nA. 1. With available state or federal funds, the State\n\nDepartment of Health shall be the state entity responsible for\n\ntelemedicine and development of a statewide Oklahoma telemedicine\n\nnetwork. The Department shall also be responsible for the continued\n\ndevelopment and implementation of a statewide system for the\n\ndelivery of medical and other health care services through a\n\ntelehealth system.\n\n2. In order to achieve these duties, the State Board of Health\n\nshall establish a separate office within the State Department of\n\nHealth which shall be known as the Oklahoma Center for Telemedicine.\n\nThe State Commissioner of Health shall appoint or employ a director\n\nof the office who shall report to the Commissioner and the Board.\n\nThe Commissioner shall also employ such other personnel as necessary\n\nto carry out the duties of the Center. The director and other\n\nCenter personnel shall have no other duties within the Department\n\nexcept those directly related to the duties and responsibilities of\n\nthe Center.\n\n3. The Center shall have the power and duty to:\n\na. assess the current status and needs of the\n\ntelemedicine network and telehealth in the state,\n\nb. utilize available state and federal funds to the\n\nmaximum extent possible,\n\nc. for the purposes of the continued development of\n\ntelehealth services in the state, engage with any and\n\nall parties to encourage and assist communications\n\nbetween entities requiring telemedicine services and\n\nentities offering or providing telemedicine services,\n\nd. resolve problems and otherwise improve the delivery of\n\ntelemedicine services,\n\ne. assist and facilitate the coordination efforts of\n\nhospitals and other health care facilities and\n\nproviders in the development and delivery of\n\ntelemedicine services,\n\nf. explore ways to provide reimbursement to providers for\n\ntelehealth services,\n\ng. explore the feasibility of providing health education\n\nservices through a telehealth system,\n\nh. study issues of compatibility of technology, and\n\ni. establish and maintain a website and a clearinghouse\n\nfor grant information as provided by Section 1-2703 of\n\nthis title.\n\nB. The Department shall enter into agreements with appropriate\n\nentities to provide the Center with assistance in carrying out the\n\nprovisions of this section.\n\nC. The director of the Center may form advisory groups as is\n\nnecessary to work with the Center on telehealth issues.\n\nD. The State Board of Health shall promulgate rules for the\n\nimplementation of the teleradiology responsibilities outlined in\n\nthis section.
