Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-2712","heading":"Oklahoma Dental Loan Repayment Program - Administration","body":"of program - Eligibility and obligations of dentists.\n\nA. 1. The State Department of Health shall administer the\n\nOklahoma Dental Loan Repayment Program.\n\n2. The Program, depending upon available funding, shall provide\n\neducational loan repayment assistance for up to a total of twenty-\n\nfive full-time equivalent Oklahoma licensed dentists per year\n\nincluding new and continuing contract renewable participants.\n\n3. Each award shall be for a contracted period and shall be\n\ndistributed to the participant by drafts made payable to the\n\nparticipant for deposit to an appropriate loan agency in equal\n\nmonthly disbursements, not to exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars\n\n($50,000.00) per year for a maximum five-year period. Prior to any\n\ndisbursement, the Department shall certify and properly review\n\nmonthly reports submitted by the participating dentist detailing\n\nperformance of activities in accordance with the Oklahoma Dental\n\nLoan Repayment Act.\n\n4. At the conclusion of the minimum service obligation, the\n\nDepartment shall review the performance in the Program of the\n\nparticipating dentist and determine whether an award may be granted\n\nfor an additional period not to exceed a total participation in the\n\nProgram of five (5) years pursuant to rules promulgated by the\n\nDepartment.\n\nB. Any dentist entering the Program each year as a nonfaculty\n\nparticipant shall agree to provide dental care and services to\n\nMedicaid recipients as authorized by the Oklahoma Health Care\n\nAuthority. The Department shall be responsible for ensuring that at\n\nleast thirty percent (30%) of the patients treated by the dentist\n\nwill be Medicaid recipients.\n\n1. Any general practice dentist entering the Program each year\n\nas a nonfaculty participant shall agree to provide dental care and\n\nservices in a designated Dental Health Professional Shortage Area\n\n(DHPSA) of this state.\n\n2. Any dentist licensed to practice as a Pediatric Dentistry\n\nSpecialist as defined by the State Dental Act or any dentist\n\npracticing in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), FQHC look-\n\nalike, county health department or city-county health department may\n\nbe exempt from the requirement to practice in a Dental Health\n\nProfessional Shortage Area (DHPSA).\n\nC. A dentist entering the Program as a faculty participant\n\nshall agree to teach at the University of Oklahoma College of\n\nDentistry. In the event there are no appropriate faculty\n\napplicants, the Program may award additional nonfaculty dentists.\n\nD. A dentist shall be eligible to participate in the Program if\n\nthe dentist:\n\n1. Is a new dental school graduate. Preference will be given\n\nto graduates of the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry;\n\n2. Is licensed to practice dentistry in Oklahoma; and\n\n3. Has demonstrated financial need.\n\nE. The dentist shall execute a contract with the Department to\n\nprovide dental services pursuant to the terms of the contract and in\n\naccordance with rules promulgated by the Department.\n\nF. If the dentist does not fulfill the service obligation, the\n\nDepartment may collect from the participant the entire amount of\n\nloan payments made under the Program plus interest.\n\nG.
