The Health Care Workforce Training Commission shall have the\n\noption of utilizing available funding in excess of the amount\n\nnecessary to fund the Oklahoma Medical Loan Repayment Program\n\ndescribed in Section 1-2721 of this title to fund new or expanded\n\nprimary care residency programs in rural and underserved areas of\n\nthe state. Such new or expanded primary care residency program\n\nfunding shall include but not be limited to:\n\n1. Payments to hospitals or teaching health centers desiring to\n\nestablish new primary care residency programs. Such payments shall\n\nbe made to cover the costs of salaries, benefits and educational\n\ncosts of residents in training at the facility; or\n\n2. Payments to hospitals or teaching health centers with\n\nexisting primary residency programs desiring to expand the number of\n\nresidents participating in those programs. Such payments shall be\n\nmade to cover the costs of salaries, benefits and educational costs\n\nof residents in training at the facility.\n\nB.
