Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-2731","heading":"Assistance for providers in Health Professional","body":"Shortage Areas - Requirements.\n\nA. 1. The Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse\n\nServices shall administer the Oklahoma Mental Health Loan Repayment\n\nProgram.\n\n2. The Program, depending upon available funding, shall provide\n\neducational loan repayment assistance for mental health or substance\n\nabuse treatment providers who provide services in Health\n\nProfessional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) for mental health.\n\n3. Each award shall be for a contracted period and shall be\n\ndistributed to the participant by drafts made payable to the\n\nparticipant and the appropriate loan agency following a completed\n\nyear of service. Prior to any disbursement, the Department shall\n\ncertify and properly review reports submitted by the participating\n\nprovider detailing performance of activities in accordance with this\n\nact.\n\n4. At the conclusion of the minimum service obligation, the\n\nDepartment shall review the performance in the Program of the\n\nparticipating mental health or substance abuse provider and\n\ndetermine whether an award may be granted for an additional period\n\nnot to exceed a total participation in the Program of five (5) years\n\npursuant to rules promulgated by the Board of Mental Health and\n\nSubstance Abuse Services.\n\nB. Any participating mental health or substance abuse treatment\n\nprovider shall agree to provide mental health or substance abuse\n\ntreatment services to Medicaid recipients as authorized by the\n\nOklahoma Health Care Authority and individuals lacking health\n\ninsurance coverage. The Department of Mental Health and Substance\n\nAbuse Services shall be responsible for ensuring that at least\n\ntwenty-five percent (25%) of the patients treated by the provider\n\nare Medicaid beneficiaries, uninsured, or a combination of Medicaid\n\nand uninsured recipients.\n\nC. The mental health or substance abuse treatment provider\n\nshall execute a contract with the Department to provide mental\n\nhealth or substance abuse treatment services pursuant to the terms\n\nof the contract and in accordance with rules promulgated by the\n\nBoard.\n\nD.
