Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-2733","heading":"Behavioral Health Workforce Development Fund","body":"There is hereby created in the State Treasury a revolving fund\n\nfor the State Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse to be\n\ndesignated the \"Behavioral Health Workforce Development Fund\". The\n\nfund shall be a continuing fund, not subject to fiscal year\n\nlimitations, and shall consist of all monies deposited to the credit\n\nof the fund by law. All monies accruing to the credit of the fund\n\nare hereby appropriated and may be budgeted and expended by the\n\nState Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services for\n\nthe purpose of repaying mental health and substance treatment\n\nprovider student loans, increasing the number of psychiatric\n\nresidencies, expanding licensure cohorts to increase the number of\n\nclinicians at master's level and above, and developing training,\n\nrecruitment and supervision capacity. Expenditures from the fund\n\nshall be made upon warrants issued by the State Treasurer against\n\nclaims filed as prescribed by law with the Director of the Office of\n\nManagement and Enterprise Services for approval and payment.\n\nB. The State Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse\n\nServices shall make every attempt to work with health care loan\n\nrepayment programs operated by other states, tribal, and federal\n\nagencies, including applying for matching federal grants, with the\n\ngoal of maximizing and coordinating resources to fill gaps in loan\n\nrepayment availability for critically-needed mental health\n\nprofessions.\n\nC.
