Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-315","heading":"Judicial proceeding for record of birth","body":"(a) Any citizen of the United States who has resided in this\n\nstate for not less than ten (10) years, the last three (3) of which\n\nmust have been continuous within this state and the last one (1) of\n\nwhich must have been continuous within the county of his\n\napplication, the birth of whom has not been recorded by the State\n\nCommissioner of Health, or his predecessor, may petition the\n\ndistrict court of the county in which he resides or was born for an\n\norder establishing a public record of the time and place of his\n\nbirth and his parentage. He may have the record of such information\n\nentered in the following manner: Such applicant may appear before a\n\njudge of the district court in the county of which he is a resident\n\nand file his verified petition in writing, which petition shall\n\nstate the time and place of his birth and his parentage and such\n\nother facts as he deems pertinent; the petition shall be filed in\n\nthe office of the court clerk and given a number in the probate\n\nfiles thereof; thereupon the applicant shall produce all the\n\nevidence he has in his possession, which may consist of personal\n\ntestimony, affidavits or records, and shall include a statement from\n\nthe State Commissioner of Health, or similar official in the state\n\nof applicant's birth, to the effect that a birth certificate is not\n\nrecorded in his office; and if the judge of the district court shall\n\nbe satisfied with the proof offered, he shall make and enter an\n\norder establishing the time and place of birth, the age and the\n\nparentage of the applicant, which order shall be final and\n\nconclusive of all the facts therein adjudged.\n\n(b) A certified copy of the order shall be filed in the office\n\nof the State Commissioner of Health, and a certified copy thereof\n\nshall be issued by the Commissioner in the same manner as\n\ncertificates of birth.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"8da871280f0d592daf17cdf26c595070023c76924833390d2e1a274eed603fb2","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-314","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-315.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
