Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-324","heading":"Certified copies of records - Evidentiary value","body":"Unless otherwise provided in this article:\n\n(a) The State Commissioner of Health shall, upon request, issue\n\na certified copy of any certificate or record in his custody or of a\n\npart thereof. Each copy issued from records marked \"delayed,\"\n\n\"amended,\" or \"court order\" shall be similarly marked and show the\n\neffective date.\n\n(b) A copy of a certificate or any part thereof issued in\n\naccordance with subsection (a) of this section, certified to by the\n\nState Commissioner of Health or by a person designated by him for\n\nsuch purpose, shall be considered for all purposes the same as the\n\noriginal, and shall be prima facie evidence of the facts therein\n\nstated, provided that the evidentiary value of a certificate or\n\nrecord filed more than one (1) year after the event or a record\n\nwhich has been amended shall be determined by the judicial or\n\nadministrative body or official before whom the certificate is\n\noffered as evidence. Such certification by the Commissioner or his\n\ndesignee, and seal accompanying the same, may be accomplished by\n\nfacsimile process.\n\n(c) The National Vital Statistics Division may be furnished such\n\ncopies or data as it may require for national statistics; provided,\n\nthat the State Department of Health shall be reimbursed for the cost\n\nof furnishing such data; and provided, further, that such data shall\n\nnot be used for other than statistical purposes by the National\n\nVital Statistics Division unless so authorized by the State\n\nCommissioner of Health.\n\n(d) Federal, state, local, and other public or private agencies\n\nmay, upon request, be furnished copies or data for statistical\n\npurposes, upon such terms or conditions as may be prescribed by the\n\nCommissioner.\n\n(e) No person shall prepare or issue any certificate which\n\npurports to be an original, certified copy, or copy of a certificate\n\nof birth, death, or fetal death, except as authorized in this\n\narticle, or regulations adopted hereunder.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"259065ca1dd534fd6bc9ec1eee245d3bb1e483c2f435d789e419cc35889966ad","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-323.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-324.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
