All agencies and organizations that regularly employ\n\nemergency medical technicians, paramedics, firefighters, peace\n\nofficers, as defined in Section 648 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma\n\nStatutes, correctional officers and employees, or health care\n\nworkers, all mental health or intellectual disability treatment or\n\nevaluation programs that employ persons involved with providing care\n\nfor patients, the J.D. McCarty Center for Children with\n\nDevelopmental Disabilities, and all juvenile institutions of the\n\nDepartment of Human Services shall implement the universal\n\nprecautions for the prevention of the transmission of communicable\n\ndiseases published by the Centers for Disease Control, U.S. Public\n\nHealth Service, in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, Volume\n\n36, Number 2S or as subsequently amended.\n\nB. The State Commissioner of Health shall promulgate rules and\n\nguidelines that will implement a system of notification of emergency\n\nmedical technicians, paramedics, firefighters, health care workers,\n\nfuneral directors, peace officers, and any person who in good faith\n\nrenders aid in accordance with the Good Samaritan Act relating to\n\nrisk exposures during health care activities, emergency response\n\nactivities or funeral preparations. Risk exposure shall be defined\n\nby the State Commissioner of Health to be exposure that is\n\nepidemiologically demonstrated to have the potential for\n\ntransmitting a communicable disease.\n\nC. The Board of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services,\n\nDepartment of Human Services, Oklahoma Cerebral Palsy Commission,\n\nand State Board of Corrections shall each promulgate rules,\n\nguidelines or policies to provide for such notification of risk\n\nexposures to persons employed by such agencies.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"95237a5eb7ddfd81d5edb2e349ddd4e7d75ebf86e052d980c122c39e3cbeeea2","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-502","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-502.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
