Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-515.1","heading":"Physicians attending upon pregnant females – Blood","body":"sample.\n\nA. Every physician or any other person permitted by law to\n\nattend upon pregnant females in this state, at the time of delivery\n\nand only if the pregnant female has had no prenatal care, shall:\n\n1. Take, or cause to be taken under the order of a physician\n\nlicensed to practice in this state, a sample of blood from the\n\npregnant female; and\n\n2. Submit the sample to an approved laboratory for a standard\n\nserological test for the human immunodeficiency virus.\n\nB. The term \"approved laboratory\" shall mean a laboratory\n\napproved for the purposes of this section by the State Commissioner\n\nof Health. A standard serological test for the human\n\nimmunodeficiency virus shall be one recognized as such by the\n\nCommissioner.
