The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall, pursuant\n\nto the Public Health Service Act, P.L. 78-410, apply for grant\n\nfunding from the United States Department of Health and Human\n\nServices for the purposes of:\n\n1. Identifying health disparities related to sickle cell\n\ndisease;\n\n2. Assessing the utilization of therapies and strategies to\n\nprevent complications related to sickle cell disease; and\n\n3. Other purposes permitted by federal laws and regulations.\n\nB.
