The Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services\n\nshall:\n\n1. Prohibit all substance abuse treatment services administered\n\nby or contracted for by the Department from refusing to treat\n\npregnant women if space and staff expertise is available;\n\n2. Require all such programs and services to give priority to\n\naccepting pregnant women for treatment and services if space and\n\nstaff expertise is available; and\n\n3. Assist such programs to develop and implement treatment\n\nmodalities and services appropriate for pregnant women.\n\nB. The Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services\n\nand the State Department of Health may implement, with available\n\nfunds, a pilot project recommended by the Joint Legislative Task\n\nForce on Prenatal Addiction and Treatment.
