The State Board of Health, giving consideration to the\n\nrecommendations of the Infant and Children's Health Advisory Council\n\ncreated in Section 44 of this act, shall establish continuing\n\neducation requirements for genetic counselors as a condition of\n\nrenewal or reinstatement of a license.\n\nB. A licensee shall be responsible for maintaining competent\n\nrecords of completed qualified professional education for a period\n\nof four (4) years after close of the two-year period to which the\n\nrecords pertain. It shall be the responsibility of the licensee to\n\nmaintain such information with respect to qualified professional\n\neducation to demonstrate that it meets the requirements under this\n\nsection.\n\nC. A licensee who documents that he or she is subjected to\n\ncircumstances which prevent the licensee from meeting the continuing\n\nprofessional education requirements established under this section\n\nmay apply to be excused from the requirement for a period of up to\n\nfive (5) years.
