Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-706.12","heading":"Purposes of Center","body":"The purposes of the Emergency Medical Services for Children\n\nResource Center shall be to:\n\n1. Maximize pediatric emergency care in Oklahoma through expert\n\nleadership, education, research and advocacy;\n\n2. Develop guidelines for approval of emergency medical service\n\nfacilities as Emergency Departments Approved for Pediatrics (EDA-P)\n\nand for rating the ability of a facility to provide pediatric\n\nemergency medical services;\n\n3. Develop guidelines for equipment and its use for prehospital\n\nand hospital pediatric emergency care;\n\n4. Develop guidelines and protocols for prehospital and\n\nhospital facilities which encompass all levels of pediatric\n\nemergency medical services, including, but not limited to,\n\nstabilization, treatment, transfers and referrals;\n\n5. Provide initial and continuing professional education\n\nprograms and guidelines on pediatric emergency medical care for\n\nemergency medical services personnel and other health care\n\nproviders;\n\n6. Conduct public education concerning pediatric emergency\n\nmedical services including, but not limited to, prevention and\n\naccess to pediatric emergency services;\n\n7. Collect and analyze existing data from prehospital and\n\nhospital emergency medical systems related to pediatric emergency\n\nand critical care for the purpose of quality improvement;\n\n8. Consult with and advise public and private organizations,\n\nincluding the Emergency Medical Services Division and the Trauma\n\nSystems Development Section of the Injury Prevention Service within\n\nthe State Department of Health, the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office,\n\nlaw enforcement, fire service, ambulance services, educational\n\ninstitutions, professional organizations, business organizations,\n\nhospital organizations and any other federally funded projects in\n\npediatric emergency and critical care medical services;\n\n9. Provide other services and activities deemed necessary to\n\nmaximize pediatric emergency care in the State of Oklahoma; and\n\n10.
