Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-725.11","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this act:\n\n1. “Ancillary service” means a hospital item or service that a\n\nhospital customarily provides as part of a shoppable service;\n\n2. “Chargemaster” means the list of all hospital items or\n\nservices maintained by a hospital for which the hospital has\n\nestablished a charge;\n\n3. “De-identified maximum negotiated charge” means the highest\n\ncharge that a hospital has negotiated with all third-party payors\n\nfor a hospital item or service;\n\n4. “De-identified minimum negotiated charge” means the lowest\n\ncharge that a hospital has negotiated with all third-party payors\n\nfor a hospital item or service;\n\n5. “Department” means the State Department of Health;\n\n6. “Discounted cash price” means the charge that applies to an\n\nindividual who pays cash, or a cash equivalent, for a hospital item\n\nor service;\n\n7. “Gross charge” means the charge for a hospital item or\n\nservice that is reflected on a hospital’s chargemaster, absent any\n\ndiscounts;\n\n8. “Hospital” means a hospital:\n\na. licensed under Section 1-702 of Title 63 of the\n\nOklahoma Statutes, or\n\nb. owned or operated by a state agency;\n\n9. “Hospital items or services” means all items and services,\n\nincluding individual items and services and service packages, that\n\nmay be provided by a hospital to a patient in connection with an\n\ninpatient admission or an outpatient department visit, as\n\napplicable, for which the hospital has established a standard\n\ncharge, including:\n\na. supplies and procedures,\n\nb. room and board,\n\nc. use of the facility and other areas, generally\n\nreferred to as facility fees,\n\nd. services of physicians and non-physician\n\npractitioners, generally referred to as professional\n\ncharges, and\n\ne. any other item or service for which a hospital has\n\nestablished a standard charge;\n\n10. “Machine-readable format” means a digital representation of\n\ninformation in a file that can be imported or read into a computer\n\nsystem for further processing. The term includes Extensible Markup\n\nLanguage (.XML), JavaScript Object Notation (.JSON), and Comma-\n\nSeparated Values (.CSV) formats;\n\n11. “Payor-specific negotiated charge” means the charge that a\n\nhospital has negotiated with a third-party payor for a hospital item\n\nor service;\n\n12. “Service package” means an aggregation of individual\n\nhospital items or services into a single service with a single\n\ncharge;\n\n13. “Shoppable service” means a service that may be scheduled\n\nby a health care consumer in advance;\n\n14. “Standard charge” means the regular rate established by the\n\nhospital for a hospital item or service provided to a specific group\n\nof paying patients. The term includes all of the following, as\n\ndefined under this section:\n\na. the gross charge,\n\nb. the payor-specific negotiated charge,\n\nc. the de-identified minimum negotiated charge,\n\nd. the de-identified maximum negotiated charge, and\n\ne. the discounted cash price; and\n\n15. “Third-party payor” means an entity that is, by statute,\n\ncontract, or agreement, legally responsible for payment of a claim\n\nfor a hospital item or service.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"52445c7ae290145f6a447c07e1411e56ccb5001c0ba206ebc334ab99ee0df007","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-725.1","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-725.12"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
