Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-740.1","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in Sections 1-740.1 through 1-740.5 of this title:\n\n1. \"Abortion\" means the term as is defined in Section 1-730 of\n\nthis title;\n\n2. \"Medical emergency\" means the existence of any physical\n\ncondition, not including any emotional, psychological, or mental\n\ncondition, which a reasonably prudent physician, with knowledge of\n\nthe case and treatment possibilities with respect to the medical\n\nconditions involved, would determine necessitates the immediate\n\nabortion of the pregnancy of the minor in order to avert her death\n\nor to avert substantial and irreversible impairment of a major\n\nbodily function arising from continued pregnancy, and there is\n\ninsufficient time to provide the required notice and obtain the\n\nwritten informed consent of one parent;\n\n3. \"Parent\" means one parent of the pregnant unemancipated\n\nminor or guardian if the pregnant unemancipated minor has one; and\n\n4. \"Unemancipated minor\" means any person less than eighteen\n\n(18) years of age who is not or has not been married or who is under\n\nthe care, custody and control of the person's parent or parents,\n\nguardian or juvenile court of competent jurisdiction.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"ca2c444b94caf3843efd72e8ec94addfbc9687d06671b94831fecb78fb1d70bc","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-740","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-740.11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
