Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-740.17","heading":"Department of Health grants to private organizations","body":"for services.\n\nA. The State Department of Health shall make grants, as\n\ndirected in subsection B of this section, from funds appropriated by\n\nthe Legislature for the Choosing Childbirth Act.\n\nB. The purpose of the grants shall be to reimburse private\n\norganizations in this state for the reasonable expenses of programs\n\nproviding the services listed in subsection C of this section. The\n\nDepartment shall make grants both directly to the private\n\norganizations and to one or more grant-supervising entities, who\n\nshall reimburse the private organizations.\n\nC. Reimbursable services provided under the Choosing Childbirth\n\nAct shall include:\n\n1. Providing information on, referral to and assistance in\n\nsecuring the services of relevant existing programs or agencies that\n\nassist women in this state to carry their children to term, and/or\n\nproviding services that assist women to carry their children to term\n\nincluding, but not limited to, agencies and programs that will\n\nprovide:\n\na. medical attention for the pregnant woman for the\n\nduration of her pregnancy including, but not limited\n\nto, obstetric ultrasounds,\n\nb. mental health and substance abuse services,\n\nc. nutritional support services,\n\nd. housing assistance,\n\ne. transportation assistance,\n\nf. adoption services,\n\ng. education and employment assistance, and\n\nh. parenting education and support services;\n\n2. Providing women in this state, through in-person community\n\noutreach and telecare, information and/or services that encourage\n\nand assist them to carry their children to term; and\n\n3. Providing services including, but not limited to, health\n\ncare services to mothers and infants up to three (3) years\n\npostpartum for the purpose of reducing the rates of maternal\n\nmortality and infant mortality in this state by three percent (3%)\n\nnot later than July 1, 2026; provided, however, no funds shall be\n\nprovided to an organization that provides, or whose affiliates\n\nprovide, abortion services.\n\nD. To be eligible for a service grant, an organization shall:\n\n1. Be registered with the Secretary of State as a not-for-\n\nprofit corporation located in this state;\n\n2. Have the grant amount approved by:\n\na. the grant-supervising entity, if the grant was\n\nprovided to the private organization by a grant-\n\nsupervising entity, or\n\nb. the Department, if the grant was provided directly to\n\nthe private organization by the Department;\n\n3. For services described in paragraphs 1 and 2 of subsection C\n\nof this section, provide each pregnant woman counseled with accurate\n\ninformation on the developmental characteristics of unborn children\n\nincluding offering the printed information described in Section 1-\n\n738.3 of this title;\n\n4. Assure that the grant’s sole purposes are to assist and\n\nencourage women to carry their children to term and to maximize\n\ntheir potentials thereafter as provided in paragraphs 1 and 2 of\n\nsubsection C of this section or to reduce the rates of maternal\n\nmortality and infant mortality in this state as provided in\n\nparagraph 3 of subsection C of this section; and\n\n5. Assure that none of the funds provided pursuant to the\n\nChoosing Childbirth Act, nor any other funds or services provided by\n\nthe organization, are used to encourage or counsel a woman to have\n\nan abortion not necessary to prevent her death, to provide her such\n\nan abortion or to refer her for such an abortion.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"06146490b504729f6ad90b6ce52abc992acc89c69cedb0aefaf56700cf4d1f92","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-740.16","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-740.18"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
