Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-744.1","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in the Parental Notification for Abortion Act:\n\n1. \"Parent\" means one parent of the pregnant minor, or the\n\nguardian or conservator if the pregnant female has one;\n\n2. \"Abortion\" means the use of any means intentionally to\n\nterminate the pregnancy of a female known to be pregnant with\n\nknowledge that the termination with those means will, with\n\nreasonable likelihood, cause the death of the fetus;\n\n3. \"Fetus\" means any individual human organism from\n\nfertilization to birth;\n\n4. \"Medical emergency\" means the existence of any physical\n\ncondition, not including any emotional, psychological, or mental\n\ncondition, which a reasonably prudent physician would determine\n\nnecessitates the immediate abortion of the female's pregnancy to\n\navert her death or to avert substantial and irreversible impairment\n\nof a major bodily function arising from continued pregnancy;\n\n5. \"Reasonable medical judgment\" means a medical judgment that\n\nwould be made by a reasonably prudent physician, knowledgeable about\n\nthe case and the treatment possibilities with respect to the medical\n\nconditions involved; and\n\n6. \"Physician\" means any person licensed to practice medicine\n\nand surgery or osteopathic medicine and surgery in this state.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"395b7233597d259c4fb7c98b926651fb817add5d8ee8f1e73933495e265994f2","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-744","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-744.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
