Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-745.17","heading":"Public disclosure of identity","body":"In every civil or criminal proceeding or action brought under\n\nthe Heartbeat Informed Consent Act, the court shall rule whether the\n\nidentity of any woman upon whom an abortion has been performed or\n\ninduced or attempted to be performed or induced shall be preserved\n\nfrom public disclosure if she does not give her consent to such\n\ndisclosure. The court, upon motion or sua sponte, shall make such a\n\nruling and, upon determining that her identity should be preserved\n\nfrom public disclosure, shall issue orders to the parties,\n\nwitnesses, and counsel and shall direct the sealing of the record\n\nand exclusion of individuals from courtrooms or hearing rooms to the\n\nextent necessary to safeguard her identity from public disclosure.\n\nSuch an order shall be accompanied by specific written findings\n\nexplaining why the identity of the woman should be preserved from\n\npublic disclosure, why the order is essential to that end, how the\n\norder is narrowly tailored to serve that interest, and why no\n\nreasonable, less restrictive alternative exists. In the absence of\n\nwritten consent of the woman upon whom an abortion has been\n\nperformed or induced or attempted to be performed or induced,\n\nanyone, other than a public official, who brings an action under\n\nSection 6 of this act shall do so under a pseudonym.
