Stat. tit. 63, § 63-1-745.32","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this act:\n\n1. \"Fetal heartbeat\" means cardiac activity or the steady and\n\nrepetitive rhythmic contraction of the fetal heart within the\n\ngestational sac;\n\n2. \"Gestational age\" means the amount of time that has elapsed\n\nfrom the first day of a woman's last menstrual period;\n\n3. \"Gestational sac\" means the structure comprising the\n\nextraembryonic membranes that envelop the unborn child and that is\n\ntypically visible by ultrasound after the fourth week of pregnancy;\n\n4. \"Physician\" means an individual licensed to practice\n\nmedicine in this state including a medical doctor and a doctor of\n\nosteopathic medicine;\n\n5. \"Pregnancy\" means the human female reproductive condition\n\nthat:\n\na. begins with fertilization,\n\nb. occurs when the woman is carrying the developing human\n\noffspring, and\n\nc. is calculated from the first day of the woman's last\n\nmenstrual period;\n\n6. \"Standard medical practice\" means the degree of skill, care,\n\nand diligence that an obstetrician of ordinary judgment, learning,\n\nand skill would employ in like circumstances;\n\n7. \"Unborn child\" means a human fetus or embryo in any stage of\n\ngestation from fertilization until birth; and\n\n8. \"Woman\" and \"women\" include any person whose biological sex\n\nis female including any person with XX chromosomes and any person\n\nwith a uterus, regardless of any gender identity that the person\n\nattempts to assert or claim.","path":["OK Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://www.oklegislature.gov/OK_Statutes/CompleteTitles/os63.pdf","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:36Z","sha256":"95ae567cf3b0c6c312de1208cff60cd9195174afb78a59b1fbcf8723031733dd","source_id":"us-ok","stale":false,"prev":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-745.31","next":"us-ok/okla.-stat.-tit.-63-63-1-745.33"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
