For the purposes of determining the presence of a fetal\n\nheartbeat under this section, \"standard medical practice\" includes\n\nemploying the appropriate means of detecting the heartbeat based on\n\nthe estimated gestational age of the unborn child and the condition\n\nof the woman and her pregnancy.\n\nB. Except as provided by Sections 5 and 6 of this act, an\n\nabortion may not be performed or induced on a pregnant woman unless\n\na physician has determined, in accordance with this section, whether\n\nthe woman's unborn child has a detectable fetal heartbeat.\n\nC. In making a determination under subsection B of this\n\nsection, the physician must use a test that is:\n\n1. Consistent with the physician's good faith and reasonable\n\nunderstanding of standard medical practice; and\n\n2. Appropriate for the estimated gestational age of the unborn\n\nchild and the condition of the pregnant woman and her pregnancy.\n\nD. A physician making a determination under subsection B of\n\nthis section shall record in the pregnant woman's medical record:\n\n1. The estimated gestational age of the unborn child;\n\n2. The method used to estimate the gestational age; and\n\n3.
